April 2018 Recap

SHRC in the Old SHES Gym

We officially wrapped up all of our activities in the old SHES gymnasium. We appreciate all the support we received from the community as we experimented with the space in the limited amount of time we had! We will keep you updated on new locations for programs as we find them.

Youth Soccer

Spring soccer is coming to an end in the next couple of weeks! The weather hasn't been the best for us on the weekends but we are finishing strong with some nice game days ahead! Please make sure you know when your games have been rescheduled from previous cancellations.

Sign ups for fall soccer will begin June 1st!

Baseball/Softball

Practices have been in motion for a couple weeks now. We have games that will start the week of May 14th for some and May 21st for the rest, so please watch our website for schedules! We are crossing our fingers for decent weather so we can continue to get practices in and stay on schedule with games! Blastball (3 year old) registration is still open until May 4th. To sign up, check out our website at: www.springhillrec.org

Daffodil Day

Our 8th annual Daffodil Day event happened this past weekend! The weather was brilliant and finally cooperative for this indoor/outdoor event. We had a bounce house and giant inflatable obstacle course, chainsaw carving demonstration, giant tricycle races, snow cones, petting zoo, springless trampoline demo and lots of our booths opted to enjoy the beautiful weather and be outdoors!

This event is an Arbor Day celebration! We ask all the booths to have a nature themed activity, such as the Spring Hill Parks Advisory Board handed out trees, TriCentury Bank had a rock painting station, and the Johnson County Master Gardeners brought in a butterfly and pollinator display that included some live caterpillars. Other booths brought fun games or activities like bean bag toss, face painting, hula hoops, and so much more! All of our vendors were selling homemade items and Grace Community Church provided free food, along with Hillside Community Church providing snow cones for $1.00! With the beautiful weather and all of the options, this event was a huge success and it was no surprise that many families stuck around most of the day!

Thank you to all of the businesses and community groups that supported us and helped make this event a huge success!
