Youth Soccer

After a very rainy season, our spring soccer wrapped up at the beginning of this month! We had another great year and we want to thank all of our participants, volunteer coaches, and parents!

Baseball/Softball 

Summer is here and with it our biggest sport of the season is in full swing: youth baseball and softball! Games are in motion, Blastball has started, we are off and running! Make sure to stay hydrated as the weather heats up.

Guys Night Out

This year we introduced a new event called Guys Night Out. This event was a chace for boys to spend time with their male role models. We took a bus to the Royals game, got our Sluggerrr bobbleheads, and enjoyed some pizza at Gambino's after the game! This was a huge success with about 20 guys spending the night out with SHRC! Keep watch for next years event!

Youth Track Meet

The Third Annual SHRC Youth Track Meet was another successful event for the books! Although our attendance was down a bit due to rained out soccer games having to be rescheduled further into May, we still had a great turnout and lots of fun! The kids got to participate in 7 events: a short sprint, long sprints, long distance run, softball toss, pool noodle toss, frisbee toss, and long jump. We had a great showing and every kid was able to go home with a medal! 

Tunes and 'Toons Series

Last summer we had movies in the park and we realized that some of the movie times had to be very late due to the sun not going down until late. So, this year, we decided to add another fun element to help it start earlier: concerts! Once a month, May-September we will have a concert (Tunes) followed by a movie ('Toons) in the park over at Middle School North by the old concession stand. Bring a chair or your favorite pillow and blanket and come spend a Friday night with SHRC! 

Our first one was a big success with around 65 people stopping by throughout the night. The Good Sam Club Band rocked out and we followed it up with a showing of The Greatest Showman on our giant inflatable screen! The next one is scheduled for June 29th with Big Time Grain Co kicking things off and a showing of Peter Rabbit winding things down!
