June 2018 Recap

Baseball/Softball

After a few rained out games and some cancelled or postponed due to the incredible heat the past few weeks, our regular baseball/softball season wrapped up at the end of June. In the next week or two, we will have a few rescheduled games so please make sure you are in contact with your coach if you missed any games! Thanks again Spring Hill for another great season!

Fishing Derby

It wouldn't be our annual Fishing Derby without knowing if it was going to rain out or not! The weather looked like it was not going to cooperate with us, but ended up holding out and being a great day for some fishing! With 81 kids and their families showing up, even with the bleak forecast, we had a great turnout and a fun time was had by all! Huge shout out to Comfort Designs for sponsoring and grilling the free hot dog lunch!

Tween Night at the Spring Hill Aquatic Center

Our annual Tween Night event is a night for 9-12 year olds to get some free time at the pool away from their older and younger siblings and friends. We love giving this age group a free opportunity to swim with their friends! This year we had 129 tweens and 29 parents in attendance!

Tennis Camp

We love being able to offer summer camps with some of the non-traditional sports! Tennis camp is one of our biggest summer sports camps. Kids of all ages love learning the basics with Coach Sherron, the Spring Hill High School Tennis Coach. Just look at all these happy faces!

Field Trip Fridays: Science City

This past Friday, we took a group of about 15 moms, grandmas, and kids to Science City in Union Station for a few hours of fun and learning! Luckily we got an air conditioned bus for the trip down and Science City was nice and cool! Thanks for coming with us!

Tunes and 'Toons Series: Big Time Grain Co and Peter Rabbit

Last summer we had movies in the park and we realized that some of the movie times had to be very late due to the sun not going down until late. So, this year, we decided to add another fun element to help it start earlier: concerts! Once a month, May-September we will have a concert (Tunes) followed by a movie ('Toons) in the park over at Middle School North by the old concession stand. Bring a chair or your favorite pillow and blanket and come spend a Friday night with SHRC!

Our second one was even more successful with 75 people showing up to support two of Spring Hill's own in the country band Big Time Grain Co! The movie Peter Rabbit was a hilarious ending to the night as the sun went down and the breeze cooled us off! The next one is scheduled for July 27th with Run With It kicking things off and a showing of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle winding things down!
